I’ve always had skin that tans “well”. Possibly that’s what turned me into an outdoors girl. As a child I lived in the pool and ran around all day. In college I was a swim instructor. As a mom I’ve taken my kids to every pool, water park and hiking trail for years. As an adult, I’ve hiked, ran, swam, surfed, and photographed as much as I can.
In my mid 30s, the signs of aging hit hard—dark spots and fine lines. I consider these signs of a life well lived! I had no intention of “staying out of the sun” as I was told by multiple people, but I still wanted to look as healthy and youthful as possible. Skin care became a hobby for me and I invested time with a licensed esthetician who taught me the importance of a healthy skincare routine which included professional home care products, regular targeted facial treatments and quality sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. Did I mention sunscreen?
Most importantly, I learned that I can maintain healthy skin, reverse the signs of aging AND live the life that I’m meant to live which includes a ton of sun with all the best things in life mixed in (late nights, good food, caffeine, wine). No one should ever come to me apologizing about how their face shows YOUR life well lived. Instead, let’s take your Real Skin and work together to make it the best it can be.
